MPPT Electronic Load Device Series - Operating at Maximum Power Point of Solar Cells

Connect to a solar cell and operates at the maximum operating point (Pmax). It can track the maximum power point under various solar illumination, angle, and temperature conditions.

To evaluate the power generation performance of solar cells, it is necessary to actually put the solar cells in a generating state. Without connecting a load, no current will flow, and thus power generation performance cannot be measured. This device consumes the output power by converting it into heat internally when the solar cells are connected. By simply establishing a minimal measurement environment, it is possible to measure the power generation of the solar cells (the device measures voltage, current, and power every second). For tracking the maximum power point, a unique MPPT tracking method is employed, which, in addition to the conventional sequential power comparison (hill climbing method), sweeps the I-V curve output characteristics of the solar cells once per minute to explore the maximum operating point, thereby performing MPPT control. As a result, even when the maximum operating point (Pmax) changes significantly due to sudden weather changes or shading, it continues to track the maximum operating point. Additionally, when combined with a PV analyzer (I-V curve tracer), it is possible to construct a simulated system under load for outdoor exposure tests. This device is used for applications such as confirming domestic power generation amounts for new types of solar cells (perovskite type), vehicle-mounted solar cells, and OEM products.
